A tabbed approach for the info currently all packed ito a single Tab/Page beneath the thread-tree would enhance "pure thread reading" reading a lot.

> Second Tab/Page for the long version of From/To, with pictures if so set, Third Tab/Page for General Information, Environment Versions, Miscellaneos (fourth Tab/Page on replies for attached file info) would clean up the interface a lot while still giving near-instant info if needed or wished for.

We are programmers here - almost as many opinions on best layout as people asked ;-))

Perhaps - if giving users options on how to setup - for small mobile screens separating Thread tree from message might be even better - Tab1 Thread tree, Tab2 Message, Tab3 From/To, Tab4 Thread meta data, Tab 5 files on reply, Tab 6 left hand tools like search tools, Folders, replies would be set.

Total agree. Making it appealing for mobile devices is a nice move. But, here on Level Extreme, we developers would be satified with less eye candy and more possible features. But the site layout is also shared with the Chatter4U.com, where many of the users may not be as computer savvy and need the help provide with the extra features upfront.

I have always had the bad habit of making my application VERY configurable and extendable. So I tend to see other application needing more configuration. It better to have and not need, then to need and not have.

P.S. what happened to the Preview button?
