I typically have that delay the first time, but not the second time or after.

One thing I've noticed is that using an SSD for your main Windows drive makes everything smoother. If you don't have an SSD, I highly recommend switching. There's no comparison speed-wise.

Intel's new Optane drives might also be an option, but I haven't used one yet. They are 1/10th the speed of main DRAM!! and are persistent memory (like NAND flash, it stays on when power's shut off).
