Electron, because it runs on node.js (and yes, this is all in Lianja, has been for 2 or 3 years, at least), can access desktop devices (e.g., barcode readers, printers, drives) as local devices -- as you are likely aware, VSCode is an Electron App. And yet, in Lianja, it's the same app that runs in a browser or on a tablet. I've attached the Build dialog the is used to build an Electron app from one's existing web app.
