Jim,

So that’s it: we’ll continue to post wishes/bugs in the “official” lists. I just was trying to get a way for better handling these issues. Dreaming is free and doesn’t need MS approval (or does it?).
It would have been nice to have scenarios like:
Developer 1 posts the need/wish for a NewObject() function
Dev 2 answers stating that he had the same need and has this nice workaround. Pls, feel free to download it.
… other developers download the function, eventually explaining what they want it for
Final step: we get it in VFP 6
Things didn’t go this way but illusions are free and give nice feelings.
OTOH I prefer to know that MS DOES NOT read this lists. I would feel outraged if they did and we were still waiting for the query builder to be fixed, just to make an example. We are not asking them to go to the moon on helium, just to fix a wrong bit of string handling. In my very little spare time I am testing a workaround I hope to post before Xmas. It will then lay buried in the files section waiting to be discovered. How many times has been explained that VFP QB does not work? Would it not be better to point the requester of the information to a full documentation of the problem, with possible workarounds and all? Then, if a clever programmer had connected a counter to the link, we would not only have a list of wishes/bugs, but also a real life measure of the importance/usefulness of whatever the link contains.
I think I’ll ask Santa…
