I would recommend either FoxFire (http://www.micromegasystems.com/ or Query Maker (http://www.strategicedge.com/).

If you just need simple queries and reports, Query Maker is quite nice. If you need more power, go for FoxFire. The web sites have pretty good info. You can download a working demo of FoxFire.
