Buuut, when executed it generates one of those unrecoverable program errors that say nothing and kills the process.(lovely) When debugged through the C++ debugger error message it says Fox Pro had a C0000000005. Anybody know what that means or how these strings of numbers are supposed to be interpreted?

>>>Eric,

>>>C0000000005 is a GPF, meaning that memory has been clobbered and there is no way to find out exactly what happened. The common causes of this error are video driver and printer driver misbehavior among other things.

DCOM for Win98
should already be installed as a part of the IE4 installation; the easiest way to be certain of this is to check the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\OLE for a Registry Value . If it's not there, DCOM can be added by bringing your copy of IE4 up to date (I've never seen a situation where it wasn't but it should be updatable from the Windows Update page) or from the DCOM98 found on the Visual Studio distribution disks (DCOM98.EXE is a self-installing executable that will put in DCOM support for either Win95 or Win98.)
