The only apps that do this are Windows Store (UWP) generally because it's a requirement and built into that platform, but even there it's been going away. Tiles have been de-emphasized more and more in favor of the search bar experience.

So for these, mainly not so experimented users, it is rather difficult to find the shortcut's and thus starting the app. Reason for me to try to make life also for them easier by creating a tile with myExe. Would you know how to construct the HTML code to produce a tile? In that case it should be easy to add a .bat file to my installation procedure, wouldn't it?

>>>One thing you can do is use my original suggestion (step 1 ) and drag it to the tiled section (step 2), It will appear there. But I have not found a way to do it by code.
>>Mike,
>>That's what I did straight away ater your suggestion, however no luck! No tile, nothing appeared. FWI there are a lot of .lnk files in that directory but only a few appear as tile, there must be more to it than only your suggestion. I am almost sure it must be doable by code as other apps appear in my tile collection like e.g. Netflix. I dont recall to give Netflix on installation an OK to make a tile, not that I mind. Like said before I shall have to study the Microsoft Link in my previous message.

Mike,
Looks nice, but a) how to do? I cannot drag to the right and b) don't you think this is very user unfriendly? I am realy looking for a piece of coding doing this. Don't feel it is correct to teach my users how to do this, not that they are not allowed, just a matter of friendly UI. The coding in the article on the Microsoft Help website should give enough to realize it. My problem: I have to translate it into VFP. Nice thing for a spare weekend ( sic ). So for the time being, I will now 1st concentrate on my VFP problems in the application under construction, and when everything ready, after the tests of the trial version it will be time to convert and implent this feature. Meanwhile users have to make use of the DesktopShortcut. Does not mean that if I meanwhile may find somewhere a piece of coding, either in VFP or a file which I can implent in the InnoSetup it would be nice.
Regards,
Koen
