I ran the utility and it says that the drive was not supported. So, I was able to fine tune anything further more. I was able to run some options to get the PC information and a test of benchmark performance, which did not return anything useful. I bought this laptop about 5 years ago, a Sony VAIO Duo Pro.

As for the partition, I have 256 GB, whereas 128 remains for c: drive after I gave 128 for the VHD d: drive. All installed OS and software on C:, data on D:.

VHD is mounted from AttachScript.txt, at the root of c: drive:

select vdisk file="c:\d.vhd"
attach vdisk
