>>Since Trump's election the NYT's earnings have soared. He's a great whipping boy and the readers love to see him pilloried.

Prediction: before Trump leaves office, that SCOTUS decision allowing MSM to defame public figures, will be remedied. The MSM will have to act responsibly again rather than setting out to "pillory" with a free pass.

>>However, the opposition the repubs showed Obama was a new low in shameless partisanship, or at least in my memory (flawed as it is)
>>The dems seems to be giving back in kind.

It's a shambles, Bill. They're tripping over each others' nothing burgers for justification to impeach. Your compatriots are sick of partisan investigation and want to see more attention on things apart from revenge for Hillary's loss.

>>I don't know if you get the coverage where you are but if you can tune in on a Trump rally you'll see what I mean. They love him out there.

We get POTUS's twitter. ;-)

>>My suspicion is that the dem primaries are really about 2024 and the congressional posturing is aimed at keeping the house and gaining ground in the senate.

That's an own goal. Wait until Trump starts saying "if your most important goal is to have me impeached, vote Democrat. But if you want immigration sorted after years of swamp tomfoolery, give me people who want to break deadlocks and make a deal. If you want jobs, give me allies in the House. If you want an end to never-ending foreign wars and adventures, give me a Senate that agrees with you and me. But if all you want is to see me impeached, then vote for Chuck and Nancy."
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
"
