I assume that this is FPDOS. I've had problems with the extended version in a number of environments; one that specifically is a problem is NT. NT does not get along the with Watcom DOS Extender used by FPDOS; I have not found a suitable solution to the problem.

If you're running it under Win95/Win98, you will likely have to change the memory settings of the shortcut that starts FOXPROX; you may need to change the settings for EMS/XMS/DPMI memory to get it to work. Whether you need to make changes will depend on the defaults set for your DOS VDM; you can examine them by bringing up the Property Sheet for a shortcut to FOXPROX (right click on the shortcut, select Properties) on the Memory page. Check that, and post the information from your shortcut; I'll compare it to the settings we use at my office for Win98 and FOXPROX.EXE (FPDOS 2.6).
