Hi Jess,
I agree with you in that the absolute best way to learn something
is to do it yourself; there simply is no substitute. However, I
feel that purchasing a framework actually allowed me & my co-workers
to learn VFP & OOP faster & more efficiently. By understanding the
framework & sometimes tearing it apart we learned more in a few months
than we would have in a year. I think that most VFP developers spend
considerable time stepping through framework code to understand it.
Using a framework we've been able to deliver our app on time & within
budget. Our next app will be even better now that we've streamlined
the framework by removing pieces of it that we don't need.

Oh well, that's my 2 cents worth.

>>>> You should pay UT for this outcome Mike.

>>>This is really getting ridiculous Jess.
>>>1. It was a joke. 2. I already do pay the UT for advertising. 3. It's only natuaral in a discussion of frameworks that includes my product that some interest would be generated. I imagine I've generated some interest in the other frameworks, particularly Mere Mortals. Should I hold my breath and wait for a check from Kevin? 4. If you get a consulting lead from the UT do you send in a check? No, you don't even pay for a membership. So since you're advocating paying for something that you get benefits from, why don't you pony up the cash and send it on in?
>>
>>Just be cool Mike. You know it was a joke, you said that. What sounds funny is that it seems you believe only on your product by "taking an axe and chopping the furniture of your neighbors and then feels that your furnitures are better a little bit."
>>
>>Lots of guys are e-mailing me here that I should not be frustrated and afraid of continuing the thread as I am on the right track. Thanks to Edward Pikman and the other guys. Reality is stronger that just facts. I don't judge something only on the basis of facts. It sounds you do.

>BTW, speaking of UT payment, don't use this as another basis to judge somebody. With my first one week here, I tried enrolling 3 Supervisors on our software group including yours truly for PREMIER membership, but unfortunately, UT do not have Electronic Transfer mode of payment. It's a risk to use CARD because of some instances happened to us before, wherein, there are unknown amounts debited to us even bigger than the supposedly amount to be debited. I hope you are more than happy now.
