Hi Luis,

Although it can be for free in various ways, I use Chilkat controls for email sending and reading. The methods are laid out, examples are provided, and the full-featured error messages are very helpful when the inevitable occurs. The inevitable includes things like: firewall changes, user password changes, etc.

Note that when using gmail, you should set up a GMail "App" -- which is really a separate password which the application uses. You can use the normal password and get away with it, most of the time. And most of the time isn't good enough, of course.
