>>>It is ok. I am used to my name being misspelled or even changed. I play tennis a lot. In the club where I play, many - after playing with me many times and being corrected many times - still often call me Vladimir. I think they think that all Russians (and I am not one) have the same name, Vladimir :)

>>Besides Dimitry is not so bad as Vladimir I think. You should now how foreigners pronounce my name, it sounds like coon from cacoon. I hear Cohen and other.

I am not an expert, but someone told me it is a Dutch translation from Spanish / Portuguese ? "Conrado" In Dutch it it is than Koenraad.
I was named in remembrance of my Grandfather, killed in WOIII. However in Holland a very famous bad guy also had that name. So my parents decided to shorten it to the well accepted shorter version Koen.
And FWIW the name is supposed to mean 'a brave men'.
I am proud of my name, it remembers me each and every day what a horrible time I have escaped from.

Regards,
Koen
