>>Hi,

>>About a week ago, I was prompted to do the Skype update (as Skype routinely) and it was taking too long. So, I clicked on Cancel. Now, when I click on the Skype shortcut, it won't start. When I go to Control Panel -> Programs -> Programs and Features, I see the Skype version 8.46. The only choice I have is to uninstall it. And I am concerned that if I uninstall it, I won't be able to install it again (since MS stopped supporting Skype on Windows 7).

I still use VFP 9, a M$ product. And I use VS 2015, also M$ product. Should I stop using them too? :)
My Skype, the same version you have, worked on W7. Until I clicked that dreaded Cancel.
I was under impression that somewhere in W7 Control Panel there is a choice to Repair (not to uninstall). But I don't see it now.
