>Skype is a true M$ product - options keep vanishing, there are no release notes whatsoever (I tried to get a list of vanished features by version number, couldn't find it), and with every new version you can do less. So repair being gone is a feature, not a bug :).

I only have 3 friends with whom I communicate on Skype (2 of them very, very rare). So, the one I talk to frequently, I will have to teach Hangouts (the Google product). I have used Hangouts a little and it seems to be ok. The challenge will be to teach the friend (or encourage her to learn on her own). She is absolutely not techie (she is a doctor). But one of her sons is a developer; so hopefully he will teach her.
Unless I figure how to start the Skype.
