I am with you insofar as this is nothing to admire or strive for (for itself).

On the flip side you have PC speech and "communication" so far from the audience that "truthful hyperbole" becomes acceptable - which in my eyes is the opposite of communication, as it targets not "meeting of the minds" but deception, fraud or scam.

So I strive to utter "here" the same things as verbally, esp. with some ;-) or :-( as no visual clues are provided and the reservation that after a few min it cannot be corrected for the for relevant rest of time ;-)
