This just started happening last week. I typed "HELP SYS()" from the command prompt, and the help screen came up and the hour glass icon was whirling and after about 30 seconds the Index tab was completely empty. It's been empty ever since.

However, if I go to the "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual FoxPro 9\dv_foxhelp.chm" file and manually double-click it to open it, it works.

If I run VFP9.EXE as Administrator, help works.

Any idea what's changed or why this is working only this way now?

UPDATE: I've gone into the security for the "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual FoxPro 9\" folder, and it's showing that I only have read+execute writes, and not full control, unless I run as Administrator. It appears this is a recent change, so something's altered there. I also don't have access to change those settings, so it may be my company's group policy that's changed. I'll check with them.

UPDATE 2: I uninstalled VFP9 and re-installed to C:\VFP9\ and it works properly. Something related to rights on the c:\program files (x86)\ folder is apparently keeping it from working.

UPDATE 3: I couldn't get it to work quite properly any longer after the re-install. It wouldn't save the Set As Default settings properly, etc. I had to run it in Vista Compatibility mode to get it to work properly. I lost all my BROWSE LAST window settings, custom fonts, etc. A little disheartening when your old friend turns on you. LOL
