Hi,

I am converting more and more customers from VFP to the SQL Server. I have a procedure that deletes a bunch of records in a table and then refills them with new values. The number of records is not huge; maybe 2000-3000 max.
My old VFP code was designed to recycle these records. That is, instead of deleting, the code would set a key field value to "$-DEL-$" (to avoid conflict) and then, during the process of refilling them, SEEK and update.

I want to refactor this code and do away with recycling. Does SQL Server recycle records on its own? Or do you think it is still worth recycling the records in the SQL Server table?

TIA
