Bud,
I run with VShield enabled all the time and run VFP6 all the time and have not had any problems. I did the default install for McAfee and every once in a while it informs me that I need to update it, I say OK, it connects to the site and it works it out for me.
On two occasions I have put a 3.5 floppy from a client site in to my main machine and no sooner do I get the floppy in, McAfee has a fit and fixes it.
I don't know much about it, but it has worked well for me. I have read that this problem can be associated with Symantec anti-virus having EVER been installed on a machine. I don't have a reference to where I read it, unfortunately, but I think it was on UT. I can confirm that we have two machines that once had Symantec and frequently get the error, and two that never had Symantec and have never had the error under McAfee
