I don't recommend an update. Instead I recommend that you buy a brand new SSD as boot drive, and install Win10 and all the necessary programs from scratch. If you are anything like me, you will be surprised how many programs you have installed, but can live without.
You can reconnect the old boot drive after Win10 is completely installed, but reconfigure it as another volume, like O: (for old).
