THE ULTIMATE FOXPRO Y2K SOLUTION

Well guys/gals here is what I believe to be the ultimate Y2K solution for FoxPro 2.5 & 2.6 for DOS and Windows.

The other day an associate of mine called me up and informed me that he has successfully developed, and installed at some of his customers locations, a patch for the FoxPro ESL runtime that gives it the same capability as the ROLLOVER in Visual FoxPro.

What happens is your ESL file gets patched so that the DIFFERENCE() function, he had to put the code somewhere, is non functional but that all dates rollover based upon a year that you specify. For example say you choose 50 as the rollover year, when someone enters a date with the year of 51 or greater then 19XX is used but when you enter 50 or less then 20XX is used.

We are putting the final touches on this thing and are looking into marketing it.

Some product highlights are:

Directly patches development EXEs and runtime ESLs
No need to have access to source code
No TSR/preloading executable
No need to change shortcuts/batch files to preload a patch file
No speed degradation
No "per seat" charge
Handles 02/29/2000 same as Visual FoxPro with ROLLOVER
You will have the same freedom to distribute the patched ESL as the
original Fox/Microsoft license gives you

Just think about how much money you can make by giving your existing
customers, or new customers that have been deserted by their old
developer, this new ESL and charging them for a Y2K compatability
upgrade.

We are interested in receiving your input and thoughts on such a
product.
