>>>Agree with you. I dont like any of them but at least we are not (overtly on a large scale) killing people to "free them and give them democracy" ... at least for now.

The journalist Arnett who immortalized the "we had to destroy the village in order to save it" ideology in Viet Nam, was born in New Zealand. Just saying. ;-)

Did you see that Bolton resigned as Trump's National Security Advisor? Watch now as the MSM portrays this as a revolving door at the WH and ignores the departure of another hawk who reportedly opposed/manoevered against Trump's overtures to North Korea and the Taliban.

Can Trump succeed after so many administrations promised to extricate the US from endless war but failed to do so, in some cases provoking further endless conflict? Who knows. With his administration constantly distracted and undermined, it much be hard to concentrate. Trump appears to emulate "better to jaw-jaw than to war-war" attributed to Churchill, while being unpredictable enough that he can't be maneuvered easily. I suppose time will tell.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
"
-- Shakespeare: Coriolanus, Act 1, scene 1
