I have been with the ProMatrix product for over 5 years now. I have been on every beta since FP 2.6 days. As you noticed, Visual ProMatrix is now on version 6.0 (with a compatable product called 5.1 for VFP 5.0).

The number one enhancement / feature in 6.0 is support for Views. All Local views can now be added to and fully supported by the VPM Data Dictionary. This type of support is critical as we look forward to the Client Server version of Visual ProMatrix. This support provides for the following.

1. Views are able to participate in all Class Forms (same as tables). Including VPMs Related Pages Form - Which I believe NO other product is able to duplicate.

2. Indexes for Views are Optionaly created on the fly for Forms requireing One to Many Support -or- Find and Locate Dialogs based upon Rusmore. This is all developer controlled - your choice.

3. RI for Views are fully supported in the Data Dictionary. Cascade Updates / Deletes - No Problem...

If I know Steve and Joe at ProMatrix - They are quite ready to announce the features in Client Server ProMatrix - which is advertised to fully support Remote Views as well as Local Views. This answers your Oracle question..

Hope This Helps - and please Re-Visit the Promatrix Site to read all about 6.0 and support for Views - as well as their other truly advanced features.

>I'm just starting out a project in ProMatrix (1st ProMatrix app) and will need an Oracle backend. I've read that FoxExpress is better at C/S, but that was before Promatrix 5.1/6.0. Anyone have any comments/ suggestions/ experience with C/S and the brand new ProMatrix?
