Hi Larry,
Thanks for the 'heads up'. I am leaning towards reinventing the wheel primarily because of the issues you set forward AND because I have already reinvented the wheel with A/R,A/P and G/L, all of which are tightly integrated with the clients operational modules.
There is nothing mysterious about Payroll, there is just the annual maintenance requirement of updating Tax Tables. As a former Payroll Manager in two prior careers, I am well aware of the operational requirements.
Thanks,
Ken
>With regards to AccountMate be aware...
>1) There is a HHUUGGEE learning curve for AccountMate
>2) "Source code" does not mean "source code" with AccountMate, it means that you get only SOME of the forms (*.SCX) for non-System Manager modules
>3) You get stripped classes (source code intentionally hidden) for ALL of their class libraries.
>4) ANY development help is billed to you at $4.95/min with no way to verify their time since ALL development help is e-mail ONLY (2-3 day response time avg). AccountMate defines "Development Support" as ANYTHING not DIRECTLY dealing with installation or bugs found in unmodified code.
>5) Minimal referential integrity for parent/child tables.
>6) I am fairly certain the Payroll requires at least a General Ledger module.
