>>>Never one time have I have had any performance issues in software that could've been improved by using mDot.
>The plural of anecdote is not data. It's easily measurable in tight loops with busy cursors. From memory there's some examples here or in the Fox Wiki.

I've done tests myself. It's definitely faster. But VFP is so fast it's not practically faster. A screen loading in a few seconds still takes a few seconds to load whether or not the compute portion with mDots got done in 0.17 seconds as opposed to 0.27 seconds without mDot.

> >>VFP is so fast that it's a non-issue. Our biggest need for speedups is a faster network.
>VFP's IL is too slow for some purposes without lots of help from Chen or creators of flls. Every little helps.

Haven't found them yet. For all data processing I've ever done, the hard disk / network is by far the slowest factor. VFP is always fast. In fact, I'm amazed how fast it is sometimes.

>>>It's not like having seatbelt. No lives are at stake.
>You're willfully misconstruing the metaphor. It's tomorrow morning here and I'm late for an arrangement, so need to rush. Peace.

Nope. I'm cognizant of what the seatbelt analogy entails. I always wear my seatbelt. If I had to use someone's code I didn't know or trust, I would use mDot prefixes. For my own code, it'll never happen.
