The object method has to return .T. or .F. (important to indicate to the calling procedure that no error was encountered). So, to go with the returning an object would mean to add another property Success or not. I realize that it will work. But I am reluctant to complicate a fairly simple routine. This is why passing by reference or private is a simple approach. But I will think about what you suggest.
