>>We each have a purpose in this world, Tamar. It's not just to get by. We have a real purpose with a real goal, and we are so far away from it by that alternate way of viewing things, of taking what seems like the "easy way" out. It's much more costly, however.

>I don't want to go too far down this path because I don't want to violate the Terms of Service here. My fundamental philosophy of life is that whatever I'm doing, I should leave it better than I found it. I make many, many decisions based on that idea. However, I suspect you and I would disagree in some fundamental ways about what's better.
I think we would disagree about what seasonings to use on our food as well. :-) Those differences don't make me respect you any less as a person. In fact, I rather admire you, Tamar. You, John, Cetin, Tore, Rick S., others. I hold each of you in high regard. And while I do disagree with several programming philosophies you purport, I also recognize your positions are valid ones. I would not advise anyone against going to you for advice in those areas if they were so inclined. In fact, if I ever had a programming task I could not resolve I would consider coming to you for help.
I think if many people here were ever to meet me personally they'd enjoy my company and we'd be friends. I'm rather witty, sociable, and I like people a lot. I think people are just flatly amazing.
