>>Thanks again for confirming it.

I confirm my words, not any sort of Alinsky twist.

>>Here's a recent tweet from Trump:
>>Not the MSM. Not fake news. Not Sleepy Joe. Not Pocahontas. Not the 1%. Not the raging Socialists. Not Adam Schiff. Not Nancy Pelosi.
>>If Turkey does anything that I, in my great and unmatched wisdom, consider to be off limits I will totally destroy and obliterate the economy of Turkey.
>>This is the POTUS speaking about a life or death issue involving tens of thousands of people and one of the most important countries in the middle east.
>>It defies characterization.

Only if you snip it out of context and pretend he said it out of the blue. Are you willfully blind to days of non-stop bipartisan wailing that moving 50 troops out of the region- which is mischaraterized as pulling out of Syria- will allow the evil Turks to slaughter Kurds? So Trump explains why he doesn't think so- because after his discussion with Erdogan, both sides understand how Trump will have to respond if that happens. For the rest, perhaps Trump feels a need to reassure the citizenry that when this POTUS draws a red line in the Syrian sand, people had better not cross it. And perhaps he sees reason to remind the audience that POTUS has certain powers entirely on his own cognizance, independent of any habitual obstructionists. Finally, what your snip also excludes is Trump's reminder that Turkey is a political and NATO ally that deserves better than this, especially when it's clearly against their own interests to behave as badly as you hope.

Reaction? Blinkering at widespread defamation of a NATO and political ally that's increasingly disenchanted with its relationship with the West, instead wailing at Trump and only Trump accused of poor behavior wrt a life or death issue involving tens of thousands of people and one of the most important countries in the middle east.

I have to ask: what if Trump is right and Turkey doesn't slaughter Kurds? What if the sky doesn't fall - again - and it gets closer to the day when the US can extricate itself from the swamp's endless wars? If the price Trump has to pay is more illogical partisan attacking at home, that clamor has been going non-stop for 2 years now and will prove no more effective this time than it ever has.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
