Robert already made a short video how X# already in crude form supports Net Core. Since Net Core 5 is a joint venture between .NET/Xamarin/Mono it will definitely be supported. NetCore 3 is scheduled to be released soon and NetCore 5 Oct 2020. I think we should not jump the gun, but it will definitely be part of X#.
Further to that, remember you can mix and match assemblies in .NET written in any language, so nothing stops you from developing something in c#/VB.NET and just consume/extend it in X#.
