I am more of a VFP guy, but recently, I have seen the advantages of Visual Studio in general. I guess my point would be to get VStudio 6 and use both/either. You should probably be going for the (in style) 3 tier model any way, so set up you data tier in SQL (as you probably have already done), set up your business tier as some combo of VB, VC++(if you absolutely have to) and VFP as DCOM dlls (maybe even wrapped in MTS packages), then you can make your presentation tier in which ever you feel most comfortable.

If you are really more comfortable sticking to one language(VB) as the business tier, it is really a lot less dificult to do now in VB6 using ADO than it was in previous versions, especially if you have SQL as your data source. You can use typical SQL statements and bind data to some controls.
