It might have to do with the wine "version" that does not contain the assemblies required by X#. X# programs were even demonstrated running on a Raspberry Pie.

It's OK, didn't want to waste time trying things out without checking with you first, I guessed you knew a few things that I don't :).
I can try out a few configurations and see which works. Perhaps it's not the version of windows then, but a required version of .net - in which case the installer is displaying a wrong error message (which is about the last thing anyone ever fixes - I know by myself :).
If nothing else works, I can still try the old laptop on the side, it's still like new (2012 :) and runs a W7.
