True story. I have a friend who runs a fairly good size company (about 20 people). Whenever a telemarketer would call, the receptionist would say "you need to talk to Ed" and switch him to the extension of some Ed Smith (I actually don't remember the name now). There was no person on this extension, only the voice mail. So, telemarketers would leave messages and periodically the company would delete all left messages.
Until one day a salesman shows up at the doors and says "I have an appointment with Ed Smith" :)
