I'm calling that good coordination, not dependence. Even though they have no choice, at least they don't have to wait for someone to start them.
Or maybe someone who (organizes an event which) "starts monday" is just a little Napoleon, imagining that without him it wouldn't start. While I would say it's nuts and sort of stupid, why not, let this person enjoy the lunacy. Whatever one gets high on, as long as it's harmless.
