Confirming nulls in views
Hi all,
Just want to confirm this as the help notes are a bit sketchy - if I open up a local view and append a row and then add in some data, any queries using OLDVAL() on any of the fields returns .null. even though none of the fields allow null values in the table.
I assumed that an OLDVAL() on a character field would return a blank character string.
Not a big deal as for most all of my checks, I am only interested in comparing the changes anyhow. But it has caught me on one check where the comparison was being skipped because one side of the comparison was returning null.
Any way around this or do I have to always check for nulls on an appended record?
Albert
