embolded was intended to be interpreted as "edit with screen editor" - first line can be read both ways...
still, you can keep your stuff mostly vcx-based and slide those few classes in between as prg based, then fix class hierarchy.

Just a simple fix of .Parentclass in vcx opened as table with one of the many hackvcx tools...
Afterwards all vcx based classes should still be working normally in screen editor

Also look at Dragans hints - originally you wanted best speed, and now you are coming to the (still) bleeding edge of vfp
