I removed all fields from the Summary band. Then if the Summary band is of a certain height, the second blank page is printed. If the Summary band (empty of all fields) is less than this certain height, the second page is not printed.
>Yes, the original report has the summary band.
>The option New Page is not checked.
>Here is what I did.
>I was removing the fields from the Summary band (from the bottom up) one at a time; reducing the size of the Summary. When I removed 3 fields and 2 were left (note that all 5 are blank to begin with), the second page stopped being printed.
>So, it appears that when the Summary is shorter, the printing of the second page stops. I was hoping that the fact that all 5 fields are empty, the Summary band will automatically shrink. But not so.
>Note that my fields in the Summary band are abutting one another without any space. That is, the Top value of the bottom field/text box is always equal to the Bottom value of the field above.

>>Note that the Title Band and Summary Band have an option for "New Page" as well (so if you select it, it will force a new page for those bands). Make sure that this didn't get changed in the process of adjusting the paper size. If this item is set, then you'll probably end up with an extra blank page -- a page eject would occur before processing the summary band, then the summary band contents would be processed and the final page eject to "close out the report" would be generated. In this case, the extra blank page is probably not the result of the conversion to A4 size.

>>>Hi,

>>>The preview shows the blank page too. I change the report to A4 form in code. I create a temp copy of the report and set the papersize to 9. And the extra page is in both when running from IDE or from the EXE.

>>>I see that the problem is with the Summary band. Even though all fields in the Summary should not be printed (they are empty and the property is set to Remove When Blank), an extra page is printed.
>>>I will have to remove the Summary band for this report.
>>>Thank you.

>>>>How are you changing the paper size on the report? Are you modifying the report form, or are you doing that by selecting a printer and specific print tray? If you're modifying the report form, are you simply changing the page size information in the header, or are you also filtering through all the records within the report form to resize the elements (to make sure they fit on the page)? If the latter, are you making sure you're setting the elements to the proper size (IIRC, somewhere in the first few records of the report form there's a tag that specifies the units of measurement, and if you're not sizing the elements using the right size, the formatting could go wonky on you)? If you haven't already, you might want to open the converted form in the Report Designer to make sure it looks OK.

>>>>If the preview seems OK at the FoxPro level (i.e. the print preview doesn't show the extra blank page), then perhaps you might want to check options for queueing the print job -- there might be an option to eject page at the end (typically done to support "legacy" applications which output as a stream of text rather than rendering pager-by-page).
