>HackFox has gotten a little long in the tooth since it wasn’t updated after VFP 7. Hopefully making it open source will allow it to flourish as people in our community update existing topics and add new topics for VFP 8 and 9. Also, the online content currently closely matches that of the book but that may change over time so it can become a better online resource.

It still helps a lot - looking at https://hackfox.github.io/section4/s4g832.html by accident, sheer luck and/or intuition, at random, I just fixed the problem I had. Because it says "it fouls up operations involving LEN() and other position-based values, like SelStart and SelLength" - exactly my problem, because it would always be off by something like the number of paragraphs but not quite. And I had several buttons around an editbox, which would replace the selection with something else.

And why would I need linefeeds? Linefeed is a printer controlling character (and paragraph marker in *x world)... Our printer is now seven years old and it's still on its second toner cartridge.
