...and it wasn't the runtimes, it was my routine to prevent ovewriting the file kicking in when it shouldn't (something like .checkDupName()). So not the image control, it was the mistaken filename - it needlesly created an unique filename and stored that in the table, but didn't create a copy of the file because it (correctly) found that the file is already in the target folder so no copy needed.

Oh, well, another brain fart...
