jQuery UI and jQuery Mobile have been discontinued and no new development is happening there.
For anything new I would stay away from these frameworks. They are large and have a non-trivial footprint and yes, even if you use a component you have to load either all or a large part of the components in your app and you really don't want that.
I echo Thierry's response in that if you plan on using components use components that don't have dependencies on other frameworks (other than jQuery itself perhaps because most do) or at least stick to ones that match the framework you're using. The last thing you want to do is mix frameworks together in a single application/page.
