>>>Yes now that they've stacked the courts and stolen enough supreme court nominations it's time for the GOP to take away heath care from those pesky 11 million people.
>
>There's too much hysteria in US politics at the moment. The nation with possibly the best vaccination coverage on earth, is told by politicians that only the rich will get the next vaccine and horrified reactions commence. Ditto "take away healthcare" if the ACA is struck down. That's as bad as opponents of universal coverage wailing that it would cancel preferred healthcare plans for millions of citizens.
>
>I'm betting few voters have much of an idea about the GOP's planned replacements because fake news certainly has no interest in telling you and for Joe Average there's few other opportunities to grapple with complicated models.
>
>E.g. there's an often forgotten approx 15 million (including kids) who got to join Medicaid thanks to the ACA's eligibility expansion. What happens to them if ACA is struck down? I see their plight as more relevant than those on the ACA exchange for whom there will be alternatives. The other one is students and dependents covered till the age of 26 under the ACA which is one of the best liked provisions.

>I suppose people who are convinced that their opponents always lie use this as a reason to ignore clear statements by the likes of Mulvaney that nobody will lose their healthcare and every proposed replacement since 2017 includes coverage of pre-existing conditions.
>
>I think if everybody calms down, there's an opportunity to relabel individual mandate while keeping it *and enforcing it* (which lapse is what SCOTUS is asked to rule on) as well as cover of dependents, plan options and other things citizens care about. Truth is, the US already has a lot more universal coverage (I won't say socialized) healthcare than some people think and that's not going to stop.

I think that no one should calm down - they should be protesting in the streets. The GOP has tried to end Obamacare 70+ times now -- they just want to take healthcare way from 11 million+ people. That is not something we should take lightly. Furthermore you might want to investigate how these 'replacements' deal with pre-existing conditions... they are all much weaker, all their plans had big holes.
"Republicans will protect people with pre-existing conditions far better than the Dems!" - Donald Trump
That statement alone should be enough to let you know it's total b.s. lol lol lol
