Hi Mark ---

Two things: If you close Excel with workbooks open, then when you reopen Excel, it will reopen those workbooks. Therefore, your problem will likely be resolved if you go into Excel and close all the workbooks and then exit (the Excel reg settings will not be set to open anything on startup) *and* in your controlling VFP code, make sure you do a Workbooks(n).Close (or the equivalent) before releasing your Excel object.

>Ok, first I'm sorry this is not a Foxpro question, but it is affecting one of the reasons I use Excel... to talk to it from VFP. I've asked this question is other, more appropriate forums, new groups, etc. but have not received a resolving answer. When I start Excel (on a Win95b box) it immediately begins to open every flippin' spreadsheet I've opened in recent... um, years! Like 40 of them. I've looked everywhere (seemingly) but don't see a setting to turn that off! Does anyone know how I can stop that from happening.

>Again, sorry this is not a Fox question, but I'm running out of places to ask... besides y'all know your stuff better than most! (SET SUCKUP OFF).
