But seriously - people like Fauci don't have a politically subversive bone in their bodies. He's outlasted anybody to whom he might be thought to owe gratitude or allegiance and he takes pride in not participating in palace or other beltway intrigues. Deep state? Yeah, nah (as the bright young things say around here)
