>>>Ft. Lauderdale Beach & Miami Beach are closed -- plus the bars can have hardly no one in them and have to close early -- I'm sure the spring-breakers are ticked off. I imagine over the next 2 or 3 months some of the bars on Ft Lauderdale beach (and Miami Beach too) will go bankrupt. I'm sure they stocked up huge amounts of booze for spring break and it probably makes up a good % of their yearly income. Now they got booze they can't sell and no customers during the busiest time of the year.

>>I heard they had trouble with election workers not showing up in Broward County today. Who would have thought - Broward alias "Hanging Chad" County having problems with an election. I went to the Franklin County Senior Citizens Center and voted with no problem. The Centennial Bank here only has the drive-in windows open and the IGA still has toilet paper so I guess things are pretty much OK. I went through Tallahassee and over to Madison yesterday. The traffic seemed about normal but several of the fast food restaurants had drive-in service only.

I just looked it up - Broward County and Dade County combined have over half of the Coronavirus cases in Florida. I guess there are advantages to living in rural counties.
I saw a doctor discussing the treatments under study. One was "big orange" the malaria drug all military in Vietnam and Korea took. Monday was "big orange" ( chloroquine) day. Tuesday morning was get to the latrine early in the day or you may not get a seat. In the "bush" it didn't make a difference because there were no seats to begin with.
Another thing he mentioned was Zinc. When I was in Madison on Monday a group of were discussing the coronavirus and what we did when we were young and the "croup" (which covered almost everything from a common cold to pneumonia) was "going around".
Rules :1. stay away from anyone coughing or sneeezing - even brothers and sisters
2. wash you hands alot
3. get plenty of sunshine
4. drink a lot of water
5 .eat right( prevention and cures) - lots of beef broth made with the bone in
- eat 3-4 oysters/day in the winter and 6 shrimp or a couple of crabs in the summer
- eat a hand full of peanuts or pecans every day( copper to balance the zinc in the beef, oysters, crab or shrimp)
- eat fresh kale (turnip greens if you couldn't get kale ) with lots of pepper sauce made from cayenne pepper.

I'm not sure of science behind this since we were still using a solution of bichloride of mercury to treat "ground itch" and ring worm but some of this looks very familiar.
