Hmm we lost about 38K people to traffic deaths in 2019. More in 2018 and 2017.
During those 3 years we lost more people to traffic deaths than we've lost to the virus.
The virus is a once in a century event.
Traffic deaths occur every year.
There will be a lot fewer traffic deaths in 2020 because of the lockdown.
In fact my insurance company just informed me that I'll get a 15% discount this year because the accident- and death- volume is way down.
Having misspent a good slice of my career in the transportation world, I can tell you that higher speeds correlate directly with highway deaths and vice versa.
Speed limits are not trite.
Anyone who does not go overboard- deserves to.
