>>Hi,
>>Since I have not done this procedure in 7 years, I am going to ask some newbie question:
>>
>>Windows 10 came with the 1 TB drive. When I look at the Disk Management window it shows 3 partitions (Disk 0: Partition 1, Partition 4, Partition 5) and drive C: (OS). The first partitions (1,4,5) are rather small.
>>
>>The C: (OS) shows the most space (almost 1 TB). Is this the partition I need to shrink by the amount of space that later can be used to create partition D: and E:?
>>
>>TIA

>If the computer only has one drive, I do NOT recommend that you create partitions. Instead you can use the good old DOS command Subst,. For instance
>
Subst D: c:\folderD
>The advantage is that you don't have to guess up front how much space you shall allocate for each "partition". And if you add a second drive, you can simply copy all the data to the new drive, and remove the Subst command.
Thank you.
