This is a follow up to my question on the odd name of the SQL Server.
When I open SQL Server Configuration Manager the only name I see is MSSQLSERVER But I cannot connect to it from the SSMS. The SQL Server Browser status is Stopped. Should I start the service in order to connect from the SSMS to MSSQLSERVER?
UPDATE. I wanted to start the SQL Server Browser service but the Start item on the menu is grayed/disabled. What do I need to do to start the Browser service?
