(Funny, that was my nickname in college - it sounds like I'm addressing myself)
At the point where you change your un-normalized table into 2 normalized parent/child tables you will have to replace all of the control-source properties on your controls for the CHILD table (assuming the parent table keeps the original name).
More important, you may need to set up parameterized views or other linkages to see all the child tables for a given parent value - for example all the invoice items for a given invoice number.
It's tedious, but not at all difficult.
