I understand your opinion about time limits.

I don't understand the problem with federal funding. Why does it matter how its paid for.

>There were things I liked about Clinton and things I did not like. One thing I did like...his stance that abortion should be "safe, legal, and rare". He also supported Hyde.

>I personally didn't like the idea of abortion before I became a dad and certainly don't like the idea now. But it needs to remain legal (up until gestational limits based on viability, e.g. third trimester) for elective abortions.
>
>For decades, the Hyde bill was something that both sides agreed on...no federal funding for elective abortions.
>
>But now, that is not good enough for the far left. Tim Kaine, a moderate Democrat for years, gave into the far left that HRC was embracing in wanting to slash the Hyde bill and call for federal funding for all abortions. And now the platform of the Democratic party is to trash the Hyde law and provide full federal funding for elective abortions. That's sick.
>
>The far left's position on abortion has became absolutely ghastly....the idea that any abortion should be allowed for any reason right up until the point of delivery is disgusting. Here is a quote from a state rep from NY about 10 years ago, and I have no doubt it's still true today....."I don't care if you're about to give birth next week....if you need an abortion, just tell them you were raped....it's your body".
>
>I still hold to my beliefs on the other side....that it should remain legal for elective procedures until the third trimester. Which puts me in opposition to these cruel heartbeat bills that want to ban it at 8-10 weeks.
>
>That is the different between myself and the far left. When the whacko religious right comes up with more and more insane bills, I hold my ground on my position. I don't go further to the left...and that is what the far left is doing.
