Flash has a bad record of serious security vulnerabilities. Apple hasn't supported it for a long time.

Three years ago, Adobe itself announced Flash end-of-life to be the end of this year: https://theblog.adobe.com/adobe-flash-update/. As part of that announcement: "Specifically, we will stop updating and distributing the Flash Player at the end of 2020 and encourage content creators to migrate any existing Flash content to [these new] open formats."

Use of Flash these days is like someone sending you a .doc or .xls file. Pretty much all the time, those old formats are maliciously crafted to try to exploit your computer.
