I've tried many suggestions (some from right here on the UT) to provide menu access while displaying a modal form...

I've had some degree of success, but nothing was perfect... the menu was still disabled at inconsistent times.

So I've decided to make the form modeless to eliminate any menu problems. This introduced some new problems...

The form displays fine and the menu is available, but now some of the code on the form dies with an error "alias not found"... I swear :), all I did was change the form to modeless and create a public variable to keep the form from disappearing...

Does a form somehow set up a data session differently if it's opened modeless?
